The high valleys of the Potenza, from Canfaito to Pitino
In the territory between the valley of Potenza and the valley of Musone, there are some real wonders, to be admired for their sinuous beauty. While the central Apennines in this part of the Marche degrade in height, the nature continues to maintain all its splendor, and since 2009, is protected and safeguarded by the Regional Natural Reserve of Monte San Vicino and Monte Canfaito.
In this photo the massive southern group of Mount San Vicino, stretching from Mount Canfaito, famous for its monumental and secular beech trees, until Mount Lavacelli. Shortly before, on a hill at the center of the valley, stands the Castle of Pitino, a fascinating fortification of ancient history.
